The Shard
The shard is a large skyscraper located near the centre of London, its exact address is 32 London bridge street. The Shard was designed by Italian architect renzo piano and was built between 2009-2012. This skyscraper was designed to be a mixed use building, which means there are plenty of things to do inside! Level 72-68, The view from the shard
About the view from the shard is a viewing gallery located on the highest publicly accessible floors of the shard, it is the highest viewpoint in London and offers unrivalled 360 degree views of the city. the viewing gallery has 2 levels which you are free to explore for as long as you wish . level 68-70 is an enclosed platform and includes 12 augmented reality 'tel-scopes' which allow you to zoom into any part of London, just try not to look into someone's bedroom. Level 71-72 is an open air platform, which means guests are open to the elements (probably rain), this is the highest point in London that the general public can access and is 288 metres above the ground. The attraction has 2 gift shops where you can buy a range of shard and London related items. Price Advanced ticket booked online - £24.95 per adult, £18.95 per child. level 65-53, Luxury flats
About 10 flats, located near the top of the Shard, are the highest houses in the uk and eu! residence will experience a 44 mile view (on a clear day) which will be enhanced by floor to ceiling windows. Each flat will have a large open living space, a gym, cinema room and at least 2 bedrooms. kitchens will have a service lift connected to the shangri la hotel below, so that champagne and caviare can be easily delivered. Price the price of these flats are almost as high as the shard itself! they will cost between £30-£50 million each, making them some of the most expensive houses in the world. so far no sales have been confirmed, however the developer of the shard, sellar, has revealed that there has been some interest. Can I see them? Unfortunately, unless you have a spare £50 million, the flats in the shard are not open to public viewing. |

Level 53-34 Shangri LA hotel and spa
About Shangri-La is a 5* luxury hotel due to open in The Shard in 2013 and will occupy floors 34-52. It is an eastern themed hotel with 202 deluxe guest rooms, the rooms will average 42 square metres and will be amongst the largest in London. Hotel facilities include the highest bar in London (on level 52), luxury dining and event/wedding space. Located on the 52nd floor, guest at the shangri la will be able to utilise some of the most luxurious health facilities in the world. Included will be a dedicates luxury spa, fitness centre, saunas and the 'infinity swimming pool'. All of these facilities will have a panoramic view of London. The ground floor entrance to the hotel will include an artisan deli, with a range of signature cakes, pastries and home made chocolates. Price Prices have not yet been released, however expect them to be some of the most expensive hotel rooms in London. Opening Shangri La was expected to open in summer 2012, however there have been delays in fitting out the hotel. it is now expected to open in October 2013.
